MSU's First Round Opponent Bryant Bulldogs Pregame

March 18, 2025: As expected, Michigan State got their number 2 seed in the NCAA tournament and will face the 15 seed Bryant Bulldogs from the America East Conference. Bryant has only been a Division I program for 17 years and this is their second appearance in the Big Dance. New head coach, Phil Martelli, Jr., is in his second year and was an assistant the last time Bryant received a bid.

Bryant won the regular season and conference tournament so this is a team used to winning. They boast one of the tallest teams in the country - almost 2 inches taller than MSU - and focus on offensive rebounding and shot blocking. Also, the Bulldogs like to run which should lead to a relatively fast paced and fun game that the Spartans will be more than happy to play. The game will be one of the last games of the first round probably slated to finish in the early hours of Saturday.
